The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 doesn’t even come close to the 1974 version, but its still a fairly decent movie. Its one of those action films that you and your father should go see together for Father’s Day, or it could be a movie you must go see because of the new digital switch for TVs. Unlike last week’s film, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 is an action film with big name stars such as John Travolta and Denzel Washington.

The film begins when you meat Walter Garber (Denzel Washington) is a transit worker who had moved high up in the ranks, but we learn that he has now fallen back to being a dispatcher because Walter is under investigation for accepting bribes. Already having a bad day, Walter’s becomes worse as a train car halts, and they come to learn that the train has been hijacked by Ryder (John Travolta) and his men and the hostages are being held ransom for $10 million (which isn’t really alot when you think about it).

I liked the movie, but it’s not very deep plot wise, though is does have a decent bit of character development. The main reason you should go see it is because Denzel Washington is a terrific actor and probably my favorite.
