I wasn’t thrilled about seeing this movie when I first heard about it, though all the trailers for it did look cool. After I left the movie theater I was left completely shocked by how well Gerard Butler played the villian Clyde Shelton in the movie.


The details…

The essential story behind the movie starts off when Clyde Shelton’s family is robbed and his wife and daughter are murdered. The criminals get taken to court, but only Ames (one of the killers) actually gets a life-in-prison sentence, because Darby (who actually committed the murders) made a plea bargain to testify against Ames and plead guilty instead to Murder to the third degree. Clyde is upset that Nick (played by Jamie Fox), his attorney, made the plea bargain because he wanted to atleast fight for both of them to go to jail. Clyde, upset because Ames and Darby weren’t held “accountable for their actions”, desides to bring the justice sentence down from the top to the bottom and take the law into his own hands.


The verdict….

The movie is a great action movie and I’m sure Gerard will get a nomination for best villian in some award ceremony. Asides from the gorey parts in the movie which makes it R rated, I’m extremely glad I saw this movie and would might actually go see it a second time.

Wolfram Alpha… What the hell?

By far this is one of the coolest websites I have ever found.  When I say that, I mean it’s better then Google or any website in the world.  Judging by the name of this website, you probably have no idea what this is, or why you’re here.  But trust me, if you want to get things done in your life without having to go through all the bullshit on the internet, this is it.  If you ever have any question or problem to solve, look no further.

Hey look, it does my homework!

Possibly the greatest feature of this site is it will take any equation that you submit, process it, and give you the results you want.  I’m talking about full on every explanation you could think of.   You can ask it anything, just to name a few:

  • Details on your name and your birthday
  • Type in “Weather” and it gives you your area’s weather
  • Type in “Cake” and it will give nutrition facts
  • Type in any person, place, or thing and you’ll know all about it

Great for research and great for stalking people…

The creepiest part about the site is that it has so much information on the people that live around you.  Try typing in a name of a family member, or anyone you know ( not too young), and it will dig up information on them. It is scary to know that everything about you is on the internet, but hey, welcome to 2009.  A part from being bored, it’s a great tool to look up history and research if you’re into that stuff.  If you’re a mathematics geek, or simply twelve years old and can’t solve fractions, don’t worry!  Enter it and you’re done!

Screw the calculator!

Need math done for your homework?  Sick of using that horrible TI-89 calculator?  Enter whatever you’re trying to solve from fractions to calculus three, it will solve it and show you how it’s done.

Why am I always so bored?

It’s just so… pointless?

Have I ever seen a more interesting website in my life?  Seriously folks, this place is wack.  I’m not just talking about the layout of the site (which is hell, it took my five minutes to find and copy links), but the content and community are crazy.  The man behind all this is unknown, and builds funny and pointless javascript applications based on requests.  People ask questions, he answers and if you’re lucky he will make a stupid app on it.  Stupid, but fun!  Enjoy.

For today’s post on BTH, we have a very very special game. Now I know many of you who will and would read this might of played this fantastic game, but I’m sure some have not. This is probably one of my all time favorite games..

You start of as a test subject for the “Enrichment Center” for “Aperture Laboratories, and slowly you are awaken by a calm, smooth voice. The voice will guide you through several test chambers as you proceed through the game, and eventually receiving the “Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device”. You are told, never to look at the gun, never fire the gun in water, and ——. But wait… The voice you heard just sped up into Spanish. And you, Chell, are promised cake and grief counseling as your reward if you manages to complete all the test chambers.

You will keep going and proceeding through harder test chambers, some including weapons that kill. You’ll also notice that all the windows looking into the test chamber have no one inside of them. So where is everyone? Will you ever learn of the “Weighted Companion Cube”, every portal players best friend? Play the game! While the game play is original, the voice acting and plot is one of the best iv’e seen in years for these types of games. It combines humor and a love for inanimate objects, sad really, but the game is hilarious to play. Don’t forget the ending song of the game, you won’t ever forget it. Youtube “Still Alive” if you’ve already played the game!

Oh and if you wanted a sample of Portal, its in Flash, and its very fun and cool =D

Bored Movies – Comedy of the Year: The Hangover

The Hangover could best be compared to Superbad, which I’m sure many of you have come to deeply enjoy. The lack of big name actors may be a turnoff for some, but it’s still a fantastic movie. The story has many twists and turns and is very unpredictable which only makes the movie more enjoyable. Many people will also be able to connect with the characters within the movie.

The characters consist of Doug, Phil, Stu, and Alan. Doug is the stereotypical groom, Phil is the ladies man who just so happens to be a teacher, Stu is the intellectual of the group who is married to a total bitch, and Alan is the soon to be brother-in-law of Doug, who is best described as strage. All of them are going to a bachelor party in Las Vegas and once they arrive, their crazy night begins. The following day they lose Doug, and the movie follows the trio throughout Las Vegas as they search for their friend by backtracking through the previous night (or atleast what they can remember from it).

This is a must see movie, and probably the best comedy of the year.
