Are you the camping type?  Or maybe you’re just the type of person who loves to mess with fire.  Well, whatever you are, you now have a chance to make your very own pocket stove. Simply pack your one ounce soda can stove and some Rubbing Alcohol and your set to make your very own Soda Can Pocket Stove!

Step 1:  Forming your soda can pocket stove!

Materials:

• Two identical soda cans
• Pliers
• 70% and above Rubbing Alcohol
• A thumbtack or pin
• A penny

Steps:

1. Cut the bottoms off both of the cans and throw the rest in the trash.
2. Crimp one of the cans using those pliers will grabbing and twisting it.
3. Stick the crimped can inside the normal can and twist to create a very tight seal.
4. **If you’d like, put some hot glue or a sealant to make sure the liquid doesn’t come out!

Step 2:  Punching holes…

Steps:

1. Grab the thumbtack or pin and start creating holes around the can as shown.
2. Create 7 to 8 holes in the middle close enough to make sure a penny can cover them all.

Step 3:  Fill and lighting

Steps:

1. Fill your can full of the rubbing alcohol using till it reaches the top of the penny.
2. Light the liquid on the top of the can on fire to cause the liquid inside to boil.
3. This will create a pressurized system where the liquid vapor will shoot through the holes creating a strong fast flame.
4. Enjoy!

This is the most in-depth tutorial ever written on Bored to Hell. You already read where to buy all these chemicals, now it’s time to put them to good use!  Today we introduce to you ways to create your favorite household chemical bomb!  You know you have heard of Thermite before, and now you get to make it!  It’s only rust and some aluminum.  We also have went out of our way to show you four more chemical bombs such as a “Nap Charge” and other cool things.  Remember, this is for education purposes only, and should no be attempted by anyone and we are not responsible for your actions!

Thermite

Materials:

• Aluminum Powder
• Iron Oxide (Rust)
• Playdoh
• Magnesium

How to Make:

1. Acquire some Aluminum Powder, Iron Oxide, and some Playdoh by any of the methods in buying chemical explosives page!
2. Pour the Aluminum Powder with the Iron Oxide into a glass bowl, mixing in a 8:3 ratio.
3. Once well mixed, take a small amount of Playdoh and mix it in with the powder.
4. Buy a Magnesium strand or make a pile of dust to lead up to the Thermite! It needs a lot of heat to start the reaction!

Ammonium Nitrate Bomb

Materials:

• Ammonium Nitrate
• Fuel Oil

How to Make:

1. Acquire some Ammonium Nitrate (see warnings) and Fuel Oil (Kerosene) by any of the methods in buying chemical explosives page!
2. Mix the two together in a glass beaker until mushy like the picture above.
3. This stuff is highly flammable, so be careful and store in a cool dry place!
4. Light in small doses, and a match will make this stuff go off!

Acetone Peroxide Explosive

Warning:

This chemical is UNSTABLE and should under no circumstances be made by people without experience in this field! Avoid static electricity and have a safe area to work with! This compound is sensitive to friction, and will blow up under say hitting it with a hammer. Please be careful, it takes only a few grams to create a large explosion!

Materials:

• Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) (3.75ml)
• Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) (15ml)
• Acetone (25ml)
• Ice Bath
• Coffee Filter
• Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate)

How to Make (very safe):

1. Acquire the above materials via the store ( buy HCL from the hardware store AKA muriatic acid) and any of the methods in buying chemical explosives page!
2. Create an Ice Bath (beaker, water, and ice) and cool to under 5 degree’s Celsius.
3. Add the Hydrogen Peroxide and Acetone into the ice-cooled beaker.
4. Using a dropper,  put in the 3.75ml of HCL very slowly and watch to keep the temperature below 10 degrees Celsius.
5. Keep it in the bath, store it in your fridge for 24 hours.

Cleaning (very important):

1. When taken out of the fridge, put the salt like crystals into a Coffee Filter in a bowl and in a sink!
2. Mix 300ml of normal tap water with 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda (sodium Bicarbonate) and dissolve thoroughly.
3. Pour the mixture into the Acetone Peroxide and rinse it out with the mixture a few times. This preserves the Acetone Peroxide!
4. Drain out the excess mixture and lay the Acetone Peroxide on a glass surface to dry.
5. Once dry, store in a plastic container! Not metal because it will cause a reaction.

Chlorine Bomb

Materials:

• Chlorine Tablets
• Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl)
• A Hammer
• A two liter bottle!

How to Make:

1. Take some chlorine tablets, and hit them with a hammer and grind into little pieces that could fit into a two liter bottle top.
2. Pour a whole bottle of Rubbing Alcohol into the bottle, using a funnel.
3. Be ready with the cap, and pour the fine chlorine tablet dust into the bottle.
4. Screw that damn cap and run!

Naphthalene Charge

What is this?

This is a “Nap Charge” and is used in Hollywood to create those large smoke bomb effects. They are not used as an explosive, more does create a large fireball with a lot of smoke coming from it.

Materials:

• Naphthalene
• Black Powder
• Toilet Paper
• Epoxy or Saw Dust
• Plastic Tube

How to Make:

1. Using the materials above, pack the a tube in order according to the diagram above.
2. Seal with hot glue, and ass a fuse to the end of the cap.
3. Light, and run!

Today we introduce to you tricks such as the Rocket Match where you can blast off your matches far into the sky!  Don’t forget the original Match Flick Fire Trick, which will keep you entertained by flicking fiery matches in the air at your brother!  Need some tips on where to light those Strike Anywhere Matches?  We got you covered.  But we can’t just end there, let’s introduce you into a Match Box Bridge Explosion, directly from your friends at Dumbass Land!

Rocket Match

Materials:

• Strike Anywhere Match
• Paper Clip
• Foil

Preparation:

1. Wrap a Strike Anywhere Match inside a small piece of foil, about the size of your thumb.  Make sure there is no excess foil!
2. Stick a end of the paper clip into the foil gently!
3. Stand up the paperclip, and put a match to the foil
4. Watch the match fly almost 30 feet!

Match Flick on Fire Trick

Materials:

• Strike Anywhere Match
• Large Match Box
  
• Good Hand Flicking Skills
  

Preparation:

1. Take one match out of the box, and make a “flicking position” with your hand.
2. Put your pointer finger over the top of the match, and push down the match hard into the runway.
3. With your flicking fingers, flick the match forward across the runway.  Be sure to apply alot of pressure.
4. Watch your match fly on fire in the air!

Match Box Bridge Explosion

Materials:

• Small  Match
• Small Match Box

Preparation:

1. Take three matches out a new and strong match box
2. Align two matches to stick out of the sides so they face outward.  Be sure that they are secure!
3. Put a match between the two poles, and make sure there is a bit of tension between them.
4. Light the middle of the bridge match, and let it fly away!

Strike Anywhere Match Places

Materials:

• Strike Anywhere Match
  
• Hard and Bumpy Surface
  

Preparation:

You can use any of the above items to light the match.  When using your fingernail, be careful because the white burning tip might get stuck in your nail and burn!  The most common way is to use your zipper.  Good luck and have fun on your match burning adventure!

Look mommy, it goes boom!

Ever wonder what the real hydrogen bomb looks like?  Well guess what, you can find out right now and even build it yourself for around twenty bucks.  Spend a few hours working on this baby, and you’ll be proud to be known as the neighborhood disruptor.  That’s right, we take you into a high definition tutorial on how to build your very own Hydrogen / Oxygen bomb for your backyard.  You’ll also need your laptop for this one folks, don’t worry, I promise it’s not safe.

You can choose one, I used the Fuel Cell

Above are the three options you will have when creating this experiment.  When I personally did this one, I had a fuel cell which I used from a fuel cell car I received a few years back.  I did the same method I’m about to show you, and it works if you’re lucky.  But if you’re lucky, you will probably be hearing one of the loudest blasts of your life.  I mean this thing is loud like you can’t believe. This four step process will have you making your very own boom’s in a matter of time.  I hope you enjoy the fun in making this experiment!

Chemical Reaction Generator for Hydrogen / Oxygen

Materials :

• Beer Bottle or bigger
• Caustic Soda (General Cleaner)
• Half a Cup of Cold Water
• Shredded aluminum bits from a can
• A Balloon
  

Setup Instructions:

1. Put your pieces of aluminum into the can, and cover them slightly with tap water
2. Place your beer bottle into a nice cool tub of cold water (overheat)
3. Add the Caustic Soda to the container (using a funnel), and strap the balloon over the top
4. Let the balloon fill up, and transfer it’s contents to the cranberry bottle underwater.
   

Electrolysis Generator for Hydrogen / Oxygen

Materials :

• A glass jar with a metal top and a plastic water bottle
• Two thick screws
• Two razor blades
• Salt and Water
• Wire
• Tubes

Setup Instructions:

1. First, drill three holes for the screws and the tubing to run through
2. Using electrical tape, join the two razors together, and make sure they don’t touch
3. Insert the screws through, and run a polarity to a razor (doens’nt matter which)
4. Run tubing from the top of the jar to to the bottle, and  seal with silicon or glue

Where the real fun comes into play

Materials :

• Longer plastic tubing
• Your hydrogen generator jar
• A laptop charger
• A Cranberry bottle and a 5 Gallon bucket (best to fit)
• A ignition source, such as a rocket fuse and a rocket ignition.
  

Setup Instructions:

1. Using your cranberry bottle, install the lighter fuse on the cap by drilling a hole through the top, and running the fuse through the top.  Be sure to glue the top so the seal does not leak or the fuse does not get wet
2. Fill with water and submerge your cranberry bottle (no top) into the water of a bucket, run the hose you have from your hydrogen generator into the bottom of the cranberry bottle.
3. Make sure that everything is ready to go, and that your hoses are correct.
4. Attach the two polarities from the laptop charger (it’s only a 12v charger it’s not dangerous) to the sides of the generator jar.  Make sure you’re using the laptop charger end that goes into your computer, not the AC wall section.
5. Bubbles will start to rise from the  jar, and fill the tube and push out the water from the cranberry bottle.  Wait until your cranberry bottle is full of the hydrogen /oxygen mix.
   

Materials :

• Rocket Fuse Ignition and cable
• A Brick
  
• A place to submerge (you don’t have to read below)
• Ear Covers

Setup Instructions:

1. Once you have taken out the bottle from the bucket, attach the lid.
2. Attach the wire to the fuse.
3. Tie a brick around the bottle so that it will sink
4. Submerge your bottle underwater in a pool or pond
5. Light it.

What’s going on here? This isn’t a real Hydrogen Bomb!

You are separating the H from the O in H2O.  Because Hydrogen and pure oxygen are both highly combustive, they will blow up at a very fast speed.  When you mix the two gases together you create a even more of a boom.  This is the real “Hydrogen Bomb”, except we are doing the splitting of a compound the easy way!

Tips and Safety Precautions:

• This is for observation only, do not attempt on your own.  I am not responsible for yours or anyone’s actions.
  
• If you don’t submerse the bottle, there is a higher chance of shrapnel flying.
• This is very dangerous at all times of the experiment, both gases are highly explosive.
• When you transfer the cranberry bottle from the 5 gallon bucket, be sure that no gas escapes.  You may use tape to black the exit while you screw on the top including the fuse.
• The fuse needs to stay dry!  I was lucky when it took underwater, but you might not be.  Make sure that your fuse is good and ready to go.
  
• Don’t add more fuses as the ignition won’t light more then one (not enough current).
• The total cost for this experiment is around 10-20$ where most of the money goes to the ignition.

How to Remove a Lighter Safety

B.L.B.O (Bic Lighter Beer Opener)

Steps for Opening:

1. Grab the neck of the bottle, using your non-dominate hand right below the cap and apply pressure
2. Place the lighter’s end underneath the cap edge, and resting against your thumb.  Note the holding of the lighter.
   
3. Squeeze the bottle, and in one motion, push the cap off the bottle using your hand as the fulcrum and the lighter as the lever.
4. The cap should pop right off!  Make sure to practice and show your friends at those parties you never go to. Loser!

Lighter Hand Explosion

Steps for Blowing Up:

1. Wrap your fingers into a bowl shape and be sure that there is no hole
   
2. Place the lighter’s end into the top opening and squeeze your fingers to create a tight seal
   
3. While keeping the lighter inside, use the sparker and light the gas.  Open your hand and a big flame will pop off it!
   

Butane Bag Bomb

Steps for Bag Bomb:

1. Go to the store and buy something.  Collect your awesome plastic bag and your Bic Lighter or Butane bottle.
2. Tie the plastic bag’s top shut so that no air can get in from the front, and be sure to vacuum all the air out so the bag is flat.
3. Tear a small hole anywhere on the bag, and insert the lighter tip, and hold down the trigger.  Make sure you have tape!
4. Once the large bag is full (will take most of lighter so be sure to use our (gas flow increase technique)

Lighter Flint Bomb

Steps for Flint Bomb:

1. Using a pair of pliers, remove the flint wheel, then carefully take out the spring and the flint with it (it might bounce)!
2. Stretch a small part of the spring, and wrap it around the flint
   
3. Take your lighter and heat the flint up, it should glow red.  The more you heat it up, the more unstable it becomes.
   
4. Throw it on the ground, and watch it blow!

Steps for Lighter Bomb:

1. Buy a pack of fire starter matches from your local store, or buy some firecrackers (the largest you can find)
2. Place the lighter leaning against a wall upside down, and put the match underneath the metal top.

What the hell do you do with liter of cola you just drank? Fatty. Enjoy these fun ways to entertain yourself from explosions to simple cap tricks to piss off your friends. That’s right… Explosions.. Flicking Caps… The “Works” Bomb? All these included in your daily Bored to Hell explosives content.

Cap Gun

How to shoot a cap:

1. For the photo to the right, find a cheap plastic bottle.
2. For the plastic bottle, squeeze the bottom till the chamber becomes pressurized.
3. Keep turning the bottom until the cap blows off the bottle. It will shoot far and smoke will come out!

How to shoot with your feet:

1. For a 2 liter bottle, you must use your foot instead of twisting.
2. Put half of your weight onto the bottle using your foot, and the cap on the bottle not too tight.
3. While standing with one foot on the bottle, run your heel back over the cap (so it unscrews)
4. Enjoy a loud burst and a white bullet coming out!

Mentos Explosion

How to fly soda in the air:

1. Buy a pack of mentos (any kind) and a two liter bottle of diet coke.
2. Keep the mentos inside the pack, but loosen them up so that they fall out easily
3. Next, put the tube of mentos over the diet coke, and at one time shove EVERY mentos inside the bottle
4. Run away!

So why does this happen?

Basically, you are seeing the Surface Effect. Diet Coke has more carbon dioxide which forms bubbles, will generate than other regular sodas. The surface of the “mento” is jagged and filled with nooks and crannies. The Carbon Dioxide fills all of those holes and fills them with bubbles (just like when you poor soda on a surface). Since the Mentos are heavy, they drop to the bottom of the bottle and create bubble on the bottom. This is what causes the fast and furious explosion out of the top of the Diet Coke bottle because it uses all the soda at once.

Dry Ice Bomb

How to create this loud bomb:

1. Purchase a bag of dry ice and acquire a empty 2 liter bottle.
2. Chop up the dry ice into little bits, and stuff each one into the bottle quickly.
3. Once you are about a quarter way full on the bottle, have a brave soul bring a water bottle next to it.
4. Quickly, poor large amounts of water into the small hole for about 4 seconds and cap it
5. Run away quickly and cover your ears and wear protection

Be safe!

• Shrapnel happens from these explosions so be careful
• It is VERY loud so ear protection or distance is a must
• I’m not responsible for what you make out of this and do not attempt.
• Water bottles are good for maybe 80 psi. Soda bottles, like Coke, etc., don’t rupture until around 200+ psi

Cap Launching

How to launch a cap off:

1. Aquire a cap from any bottle, it does not matter which type or where you got it frmo
2. Place the cap between your thumb and middle finger, use the image to the right for reference
3. Keeping your thumb still, flick the cap using the grip on the side of the cap with your middle finger

Tips and notes:

• This does take quite a bit of skill to master so don’t get frustrated
• A skilled flicker can throw the cap about 50 feet, so keep trying!
• It’s a very good way to piss your friends off without them ever knowing!
• Good luck!

Bottle Meltdown Explosion

How to create this monster:

1. Buy a bottle of “The Works” from your local store, it should be in the cleaner department, and also get a 2 liter bottle.
2. Grab a sheet of foil and gently insert it into the bottle, making sure to leave the most surface area and that its on the bottom
3. Once you have the foil in, put the top of “The Works” into the bottle and quickly pour all of inside.
4. Screw the cap onto the bottle and run away. The bottle will slowly melt and explode due the the intense pressure and heat!

How does the “Works” bomb work?

• The toilet cleaner being highly reactive to metals and creating a large amount of gas, will generate heat and works makes hydrogen
• The heat is caused by the reaction, and the explosion and or fireball from the pressure and hydrogen

Ever carry your favorite lighter around the house and light it constantly pointlessly wasting fuel?  Couldn’t you be doing something better with all that gas then burning your finger?  WD-40? How to get a hot flash:

1. Buy a block on Magnesium from your local Sports Authority or camping store.  It will come in a little green package in a large block  with flint on top
2. Using a knife or Dremel tool, slowly shave small carvings off the block till you have a nice size pill of grey metal
3. Lighting it can be tricky! Using flint or matches ignite the pile. It burns bright so make sure to run away.

• Magnesium is the 8th most abundant element in the earth’s crust.
• It burns over 2000 degrees!

Army Soldier Fire Starter

How to melt these green men:

1. Buy a bag of green army men from the internet or at a kids store near you.
2. Using a magnify glass or match, light it up and watch it melt slowly !

How to make a Green Army Men bowl:

1. Heat your oven up to 300 degrees and place your green army men into a pyrex glass bowl.
2. Line then up side by side so they stack up almost over the edge of the bowl.
3. They will melt quite fast, and once you are happy with the results take the bowl out.
4. Let it cool for around 20 minutes and enjoy your new collectable!
5. If you want to add layers, simply cool it down, and add more men over the previous layer!

Homemade Flamethrower

Flamethrower materials:

1. For our use, please use the all common household material – WD- 40.
2. Light a long stick or a long ligher (DO NOT USE A SHORT MATCH) and stick it in front
3. Spray the bottle in front of the flame for a few seconds.

Some Facts on spraying:

• The fire will not go back into the can like most people think
• The fumes produced are highly toxic

Firework Facts

Sparkler Bomb Classic

Step #1: Grab several packs of sparklers and groups them up into one pile

Step #2: Take electrical tape and tape tightly around all surface area

Step #3: Leave one at the top to be a fuse, and wrap about two layers of tightly woven tape

Step #4: Light and enjoy!

Cheap Whistle Aerial

Step #1: Buy the Piccolo Pete fireworks, or any other type of small jet up firework

Step #2: Light the fuse, and wait until it goes up

Step #3: Launch it into the air, and watch it fly, and blow up at the end!

Large Flash

Step #1: Buy some Bottle Rockets, and when I say buy, BUY ALOT!

Step #2: Create a box with foil on the outside, and begin to take apart the rockets and fill the box

Step #3: Make a fuse, and stick it on the side, and make sure it is long enough.

Step #4: Light the fuse, and run! It should make a large flash for around thirty seconds!

Today on Bored to Hell, we have a interesting trick or two up sleeves.  How many of you love fire?  Good, everyone raised their hands, I mean really who doesn’t love playing with matches.  But lets leave those silly matches to the kids and play with some good old fashion lighters!

Big Flame Lighter

Preparation:

1. Push the “Flame Height Adjuster” to the max +
   
2. Lift the “Flame Height Adjuster” above the white gear wheel it rides on
3. Lift the black handle controlling the gear and move it back to minus – without moving the white gear
4. Now put the black handle back on the white gear and push it back to max +
5. Rinse and repeat and use the lighter and watch your flame burn high!

Fire in a Bowl

Preparation:

1. Create a small  tightly closed bowl inside of your shirt using your hands
2. Inject lighter fuel inside the small bowl for around 10 seconds
3. While still keeping the lighter head in the shirt, use the sparks
4. Watch flames go up on your shirt (it should not burn anything)

Soda Can Explosion

Preparation:

1. Put the can up side down and push the lighter tip into the hole while letting the metal push the gas
   
2. Inject about 20 seconds full of gas to let can fill up
   
3. Carefully, light the sparks on the tip and watch the can blow!
