Which will you choose?
The Internet has grown so much over the past years. New social networking sites appear each day, trying to grab some glory from Facebook and Myspace. But we can’t ignore the smaller things, such as listening to music. While the most popular by far, Imeem, has grown from a simple “Play song” site into a “Social Networking Music” site, all can’t help but wonder are there anymore? Today on Bored to Hell, a review of the mighty.
Most music is the best right?
Over the past few years, Imeem has evolved into something much more powerful then just some social music site. Imeem boost many features, such as limiting the amount of ads the user will see. If you compare Imeem to any other site of its kind, you will notice very smart ad implementation, creating a user friendly environment. Imeem also focuses on creating a large user community, where friends are a large part of sharing music through their site.
Imeem also host a variety of community content, such as a daily music blog brought to us by the creators themselves, showing us new music and updates to the site. So why does Imeem have a 1+ on all other playlist sites? It’s simple, easy, and great to use. And with mass use, comes a variety of songs, and yes-Imeem has the most songs out of any music network.
But it sounds so serious…
While Imeem focused on simplicity, we have predators in the background, looking for popularity. I’m going to say this flat out, Project Playlist has a long way to go, but it still have some advantages over Imeem and Deezer. So what are they you may ask? It is very hard to tell. Compared to other music sites, Project Playlist has a smaller load on your PC, compared to the fancy programming on other sites.
There are some downsides, such as the site looks like it got hit by a truck with ads. The layout is not too pretty, I’ll admit. So whats the point of even using Project Playlist? One-Click playing makes the site very nice, and with its low load on your computer, it makes a excellent music player for older computers. This site has a 1+ with the one click play, instead of having to go to the songs homepage and wait forever with Imeem and Deezer.
What kind of name is Deezer?
Now for Deezer, the music and video giant. Personally, I not like to use this website for a few reasons. First off, it has the smallest music database compared to both Project Playlist and Imeem. I mean seriously, what is the point of a Internet Music site without a large variety to pick from. For people that like to have related or music videos with their music, this site is for you.
Unlike Imeem and Project Playlist, you will be shown different videos that may kill some time. But this is NOT the site if you just want to listen to the song. Though they could work on the placement of their ads, the site hosts a very nice flash layout. Another plus about Deezer is that it shows concert dates, band information, and related artist. These tools create a appearance of a “Last.FM” website, but instead, you pick the music you want to hear (each song).
