The Top 5 Most Addicting Video games

Because you can’t tell from the logos….

Command and Conquer #5

Command and Conquer Addicting Game #5

For the rank of #5 comes in Red Alert and Command and Conquer series which was created by Westwood over nine years ago.  Both RTS (Real-time strategy) series brings hundreds of hours of fun.  Of course you you probably will not play the older series which were created many years back and have what we call “shit graphics”.  Most people don’t like RTS, for a number of reasons being that they involve a lot of time, and require much strategy.  One of the campaign missions can last from two to three hours. The reason you hear a lot of bitching about RTS games is because they’re hard to balance.  Look at Halo Wars for example, which has went through so many stages in balance, I’ve lost count.

The whole goal of a RTS is simple: Build, Gather, and Defeat. Each building you see above has a unique value to it.  In a RTS you start off with a simple base, which will grow into a collecting area for money, and soon you will build vehicles and troops.  Need more power? Then upgrade them using your labs at the endgame!  Once you’ve beat the campaign, go enjoy hundreds of hours online with thousands of people still playing these games. You may not want to pick Red Alert 2, but maybe try out new games such as Command and Conquer: Generals.  Though people claim, Warhammer is the most balanced and precise RTS available, you may still want to check out these classics!

The Halo Series #4

Halo Series is #2 as a Addicting game

The Halo series is an incredible story line packed with drama, action, guns, Cortana, and even some aliens.  Well mostly aliens… For the #4 spot tonight, we have the classic FPS (First Person Shooter).  Bungie, which is the creator of the game probably stuck gold when they created this storyline. They’re are four books going around the game which just as the game, are very addicting. So what makes this game so addicting?  The campaign of all three games (Halo 1, 2 and 3) gross in total about 20 hours to complete all of them.  Once you’ve had a taste of the story, you head over to the best part…

Halo is big. Real Big! Every day there are millions of players online playing Halo 3 Matchmaking for fun, rank, and glory.  Some people don’t speak english, some can’t even hold a controller, and the best part- most of them are screaming 13 years olds!   Slowly you will level up through the matchmaking system, which is by far one of the most advanced matchmakers right now. The addictive quality of this game is the process of ranking up, and proving that you can kick ass in Halo.  Hey, you’re going to need it if your boss challenges you to a match. Screw Golf.

Half Life Series #3

Half Life and Portal Series #3 Addicting Game

Everyone who’s everyone that plays a FPS has played Half Life.  For the nerds who think that Halo isn’t hardcore enough, welcome to FPS heaven. Remember the days where you would wake up every Saturday to watch your favorite cartoons?  Well now put this in place of your favorite cartoon!  This is the ultimate FPS when it comes down to mechanics, balance, and playability.  Heck, it even has a great storyline to go with it (not as good as Halo though) which will eat your hours away.  Valve did a great job creating Half Life, and did a even better job at making it the best FPS!

Starcraft Series #2

Starcraft Series #2 top addicting game

Hitting the number #2 spot, Starcraft for the PC hits the next best RTS.  If you’ve never seen crazy Korean gamers playing this game all day for money, then you have not seen nothing.  The story line behind Starcraft was never strong, but the multiplayer intensity always heats up online. The graphics may not be the best part of the game, but the addiction from day one always starts.  You can play online for free, and choose three races in the start; Protoss, Zerg, and Terran. Though probably the second you join a group, you’ll get kicked out. No noobs please!

Unlike most RTS, you must gather two types of supplies, instead of one. Games such as Warhammer and Red Alert, you need only to collect ore.  But, in Starcraft you need gas and crystals to supply your huge army.  The online play is intense, between the low lag rates and mature player base, you will spend hours upon hours diving into all that is RTS.  But, this game is a bit old so let’s dive into Starcraft 2.

World of Warcraft #1

World of Warcraft Top Addicting Game

Let me say this clearly.  If you want a time killer in any manner, I have brought you to your final destination.  World of Warcraft by Blizzard Entertainment by far has the most subscriptions and money then any other game company in the world.  Bragging rights of 12 millions players at a monthly subscription fee of 15$ a month brings us to…165000000$ a month. That’s some serious dough right there folks.  But, these people aren’t wrong. The game is addicting to the max, once you start your character in the world called “Azeroth”, you won’t stop until you have 500+ days of play time.  That’s right 500 days.

Wrong. The way the game is setup is a typical advancement game.  You receive a quest, do it, get better gear and you win!  Then make that 20,000 quests so you keep upgrading which in the end takes years.  Through these questions and dungeons you will be able to acquire the best gear and brag to all your friends!  All your internet friends that is.  Don’t let anyone in real life know you play this game because it’s still considered very nerdesh.
